The Westside Homeless Family Project provides culturally competent support to homeless families located on the Westside of Atlanta, Georgia. Some homeless families are not aware of housing resources and others have difficulties navigating complex systems. In 2015, HOPE Through Divine Intervention (HTDI) began partnering with other organizations in the Westside Momentum. The project provides a combination of social support and referrals of resources for the homeless population. These are provided through a series of supportive housing groups. These groups offer participating homeless families the resources to obtain a fixed residence with the aim of preventing future homelessness. The project seeks to address some barriers to homelessness. Most families are able to maintain stable housing. As a part of process, these families are also invited to join pre-purchasing counseling. HTDI has a history of moving families from homelessness to homeowners.
